3. Ripple affect comparison with SCR rectifier:

Ø For SCR rectifier, If current is only 20% of rated value, voltage is almost full load, the plating quality will not be affected; if output voltage is only 20%, there is effect to plating quality, normally 5% ripple requirement is for current ripple. 

e.g. If ou have 10000 amp SCR rectifier 12 volt, you plate at 6000 amp 12 volt, the quality will not be affected; if you plate at 6000 amps and 6 volt, then quality will be affected. 

Ø In the IGBT rectifier, because it is high frequency output, plating quality is not affected even working at half voltage, such as 6 volt, and we also add filter to reduce ripple as low as possible, not affect plating quality.
